About Us
What is Ztail?
Ztail is the first free service to lock in the future resale value of consumer electronics, sporting goods and baby gear at the time of purchase and the only company to guarantee a future market price on eBay.
Temporary Ownership:
Ztail sees the rise of temporary ownership on the horizon. Why don't we already buy gadgets and sporting goods like we buy cars - with the future resale value in mind? Ztail makes it easy for consumers to own what they want for less by guaranteeing the future resale value of the things they buy.
Who is Ztail for?
Consumers:
Ztail is an entirely new, risk-free way to own the things you want for less. When you make a purchase, Ztail locks in the future resale price of the product. That way, when you're ready to sell on eBay later, you know exactly how much you'll be able to collect.
For example: buy a new $170 iPod today and Ztail will guarantee that when you come back anytime within the year, you'll be able to sell that iPod for at least $90. If your eBay sale doesn't return the full guaranteed value, Ztail will make up the difference. With Ztail, you can say goodbye to gadget envy.
Retailers:
Ztail partners with retailers to offer a resale guarantee on select consumer products. When they're ready to upgrade, Ztail directs customers back to the retailer, generating repeat buyers from the first sale. Consumers get the products they want and retailers get the sale - all without offering an additional discount.
The Ztail Resale Guarantee removes consumer's purchasing objections, increases conversion, and improves customer loyalty. It's a win for consumers and a win for retailers.
Who's behind Ztail?
Ztail was founded in 2005 in Palo Alto, California by e-commerce veterans Bill Hudak and Jordan Kobert. Since the beginning, Ztail has been making strides in changing the way consumers buy and sell online.
In 2006, we launched Pushbutton Publishing, the fastest and easiest way to sell on eBay; in 2008 Ztail was awarded the Grand Prize in the eBay Developers Widget Contest. Then in July 2008, Ztail partnered with TechCrunch to offer the first ever eBay Guaranteed Selling Price (GSP). Timed to coincide with Apple's iPhone 3G launch, Ztail guaranteed the eBay resale value of 1st generation iPhones for TechCrunch readers - every participant received more than the guaranteed resale price.
Today, Ztail is embracing an entirely new approach to ownership. Through partnerships with eBay and trusted retailers, Ztail radically changes how consumers buy and resell online. Ztail's approach to e-commerce lets shoppers buy with confidence, upgrade to the newest gadgets more frequently and ultimately own the things they want for less.
